GigE Vision® is an interface standard for high-performance industrial cameras. It provides a framework for transmitting high-speed video and control signals over standard Gigabit Ethernet networks. GigE Vision compatible cameras can transfer data as fast as 100 MB/s over cable lengths of 100 feet or more.

MATLAB supports digital cameras that follow the GigE Vision standard through the Image Acquisition Toolbox™. By supporting GigE Vision within MATLAB® and Simulink®, users are able to integrate standard cameras into their workflows to capture live video and images for processing. The toolbox supports GigE Vision standard 1.2.
